Cross-Folded Leaflets
Cross-folded leaflets are folded several times to create a compact format that fits conveniently inside pockets, handbags and other bags. Their portable size makes them easy to distribute during events, trade shows and in-store promotions.
Despite their small folded dimensions, they open to provide substantial space for text, photographs, diagrams and charts. This makes them particularly suitable for businesses that need to communicate detailed information about products, services or upcoming events.

Cross-Folded Leaflet Printing
Cross-folded leaflets offer a flexible format for a wide variety of marketing and informational materials. Available in three sizes, they can be customised for product catalogues, tourist guides, travel maps, restaurant menus and informational brochures.
Their distinctive folding method allows a compact leaflet to open into a much larger layout, providing generous space for detailed content while keeping the information accessible and visually engaging.
An Interactive Reading Experience
Unlike a conventional single-page flyer, a cross-folded leaflet reveals information gradually as each section is opened. This creates a sense of discovery that can attract attention and encourage readers to explore the complete message.
The layered presentation makes key information more memorable while supporting a more engaging interaction with the content.
Practical and Cost-Effective
Cross-folded leaflets are economical to produce, particularly in larger quantities. They enable businesses to communicate substantial information through a compact and visually appealing format, making them suitable for organisations with limited marketing budgets.
Their combination of affordability and high-impact presentation can provide excellent value for businesses of different sizes.
Ideal for Sequential Information
The structured panel arrangement is particularly effective for:
- Instructions
- Tutorials
- Step-by-step processes
- Detailed guides
Each panel can lead naturally into the next, helping readers follow the information in a clear and logical order. This makes cross-folded leaflets especially useful in sectors such as education, healthcare and tourism, where information must be presented clearly.
Suitable for Direct Mail
Once folded, these leaflets are compact enough to fit inside standard envelopes and mailing packages without requiring specialist handling. This can help reduce postage costs while providing a practical way to reach a wider audience through direct-mail campaigns.
Paper and Finish Options
Choose from a variety of materials to suit the intended use:
- Uncoated paper: Suitable for forms, puzzles and other content that recipients may need to complete using a pen or pencil.
- Gloss paper: Provides a polished appearance and is available in several paper weights.
- Silk paper: Offers a professional finish with enhanced durability across various paper weights.

Preparing Artwork for Unlaminated Folded Leaflets
- Download the available artwork templates to prepare your design using the correct measurements and panel widths.
- Print a physical mock-up before submitting the artwork to ensure every design element is positioned correctly.
- Supply the complete leaflet design as a two-page, double-sided PDF. For example, an A4 leaflet folded to A5 should display leaflet pages 4 and 1 on PDF page 1, with pages 2 and 3 arranged on PDF page 2. View our folded-leaflet artwork illustration for a visual example.
- For landscape-fold artwork, position the front and back covers together on the same PDF page. Keep the front cover upright and rotate the back cover by 180 degrees.
- Place the internal panels on PDF page 2 and rotate them by 180 degrees so they appear in the correct orientation after printing and folding.
- Print a mock-up before uploading the finished file to verify the position and orientation of every panel.
- If coloured backgrounds or coloured design elements cross the fold lines, laminated leaflets are recommended. Lamination helps prevent cracking in the paper and ink while producing a cleaner, smoother fold.
