W-Folded Leaflets
Also known as zigzag-fold or concertina-fold leaflets, W-folded leaflets provide businesses with an organised and visually engaging way to present information.
The spacious four-panel format makes it easy to divide content into clearly defined sections. Each panel can focus on a separate topic or part of your message, allowing detailed information to be communicated in a logical and structured format.

W-Fold Leaflet Printing
W-fold leaflets use a zigzag format that reveals each panel in sequence, making information easy to follow in a logical order. This structure is particularly suitable for step-by-step instructions, guides, tutorials, educational material and other content that requires a clear progression.
Their flexible multi-panel layout supports a wide variety of marketing and informational uses, including:
- Brochures
- Product catalogues
- Travel guides
- Restaurant menus
- Event programmes
- Informational pamphlets
Each panel can feature a different product, service or message, providing plenty of room for creative and customised designs.
When folded, these leaflets are compact and convenient to distribute at conferences, trade shows, events and retail locations. Their practical size also makes them suitable for direct-mail campaigns, as they can be placed inside standard envelopes. The convenient W-fold format may encourage recipients to retain and read the leaflet.

Preparing Artwork for Unlaminated Folded Leaflets
- Download the available artwork templates to set up your design with the correct dimensions and panel widths.
- Print a mock-up before submitting the final artwork to confirm that every element is positioned correctly.
- Supply the complete leaflet design as a two-page, double-sided PDF. For example, when preparing an A4 leaflet folded to A5, PDF page 1 should contain leaflet pages 4 and 1, while PDF page 2 should contain pages 2 and 3. View our folded-leaflet artwork illustration for a visual example.
- For landscape-fold artwork, place the front and back covers together on the same PDF page. The front cover should appear in its correct orientation, while the back cover must be rotated by 180 degrees.
- Place the internal panels on PDF page 2 and rotate them by 180 degrees so they appear correctly on the finished leaflet.
- Print a physical mock-up to verify all page orientations before uploading the artwork.
- If the design features coloured backgrounds or coloured elements extending across fold lines, laminated leaflets are recommended. Lamination helps protect the paper and ink from cracking while producing a smoother fold.

Folded leaflets printed on 130 gsm or 170 gsm paper in sizes from A4 to A6 are tax-exempt. A7 leaflets printed on paper below 300 gsm are also exempt from tax.
