Custom-Sized Foam Board Printing
Our Foam Board Signs are available in various materials, thicknesses and dimensions to suit different display requirements.
For an economical, high-density foam sign, choose 5mm KAPA®tex or KAPA®plast. These affordable foam-core options provide two distinct printed finishes. KAPA®plast produces vibrant colours and realistic reproductions, while KAPA®tex offers the texture and appearance of canvas. As our lightest board options, both materials are particularly suitable for hanging signage.
Custom sizes are available from 200–1350mm wide and 200–2800mm high.
Looking for a Thicker Board?
At 10mm thick, Smart-X® combines a lightweight structure with greater rigidity, making it well suited to direct digital printing. It can be used indoors or outdoors for applications such as life-size cut-outs and large wall graphics. Smart-X® is available in widths from 200–1500mm and heights from 200–2800mm.
Although Foam Board Signs can be used inside and outside, they are not recommended for fixed installations exposed to weather conditions for extended periods or subjected to significant temperature changes. For a more durable, professional display, explore our Di-Bond Signs.
The boards can be drilled easily, allowing them to be securely attached to a surface.

Technical Specifications for Custom Foam Signs
Please prepare your artwork according to the following requirements:
- Add 3mm bleed on every side.
- Supply the artwork in full CMYK colour.
- For the best print quality, submit the file as a PDF. Read our guide to the PDF/X-1a:2001 format for more information.
- Embed all fonts or convert them to outlines.
- Set all images to a resolution of 150dpi.
- Keep important content at least 5mm from each edge. A 10mm safe zone is recommended for the best results.
- Use a minimum font size of 18pt and a minimum line weight of 2pt to help ensure clear printing. View our Help Centre guidance for further details.
Custom-Shaped Boards
If your board requires custom-shape cutting and drilled holes, supply the file with the following elements:
- Print artwork
- Drilling path: Create a 100% Yellow spot colour named “Cut contour drill” and apply it to a stroke with a line weight of 0.25pt.
- Cutting path: Create a 100% Magenta spot colour named “Cut contour” and apply it to a stroke with a line weight of 0.25pt.
All cutting and drilling paths must be stroke-only paths with no fill. Drill-hole centres should be positioned at least 25mm from the board’s edge, and each drilling path should measure at least 5mm in diameter.
Double-Sided Printing
For double-sided foam signs, prepare the file as follows:

- Drilling path: Use a 100% Yellow spot colour named “Cut contour drill path”, with a 0.25pt line weight.
- Cutting path: Use a 100% Magenta spot colour named “Cut contour”, with a 0.25pt line weight.

All paths must be strokes without any fill. Position the centre of each drill hole at least 25mm from the edge, and ensure the drilling path has a minimum diameter of 5mm.
