Preparing Artwork for Kiss-Cut Stickers
After completing your order, you can upload your print-ready artwork. Please provide one multilayer PDF containing the following:
- A 3 mm bleed on every side.
- A 5 mm safe zone. Keep all text and design elements within this area unless they are intended to bleed beyond the edge.
- Artwork supplied in CMYK, preferably using the PDF/X-4a standard.
- All fonts outlined or embedded.
- A resolution of 300 dpi.
- A print layer named “Artwork” containing the CMYK design.
Standard Sticker Shapes
You do not need to include a cutting path or cutting layer when ordering circular, square or rectangular labels. The required cutting shape will be applied automatically.
Custom-Shaped Stickers
Custom shapes require a vector cutting guide with the following settings:
- Stroke thickness: 0.25 pt
- Spot-colour name: “KissCutting”
- Colour value: 100% magenta
- Stroke setting: Overprint
- Layer name: “KissCutting”
White Underpin Requirements
For a solid white-fill underpin, you do not need to add an underpin layer to the artwork. It will be applied automatically across the complete design.
When selective white underpin is required on transparent material, create a vector element using a case-sensitive spot colour named “White” and set it to 100% cyan. It must be set to overprint and placed on a layer named “White”. Bitmap images cannot be used for this element.
Foil and Selective White Artwork
For stickers that include foil or selective white, submit a two-page PDF:
- Page 1: The printed artwork, including any required “KissCutting” or “White” layers.
- Page 2: The foil or selective-gloss artwork.

Foil artwork must consist of vector shapes, with any overlapping white elements removed from the foil vectors. The following minimum specifications apply:
- Foil line weight: 1 pt (0.34 mm)
- Font size: 10 pt (3.4 mm)
- Space between foiled or raised-gloss elements: 1 pt (0.34 mm)
Finished Size and Backing Sheet
Kiss-cut stickers are supplied on either square or rectangular backing sheets. The dimensions selected when ordering refer to the complete backing-sheet size, rather than only the peelable sticker.
For example, ordering a 60 mm × 60 mm circular option will provide a 60 mm square backing sheet containing a 50 mm circular sticker.
For custom shapes, maintain a minimum 5 mm safe zone between the sticker edge and the edge of the backing sheet. This area is identified on our templates and in the product-page image.

Printing Kiss-Cut Stickers
Pro tip: Circular stickers have a movement tolerance of 2 mm. As a result, artwork that is perfectly centred when submitted may move slightly during printing. We therefore advise against using borders or line outlines around circular sticker designs.
