Durable Dibond Sign Printing
Dibond signs provide a strong and long-lasting solution for professional signage. Their resistance to rust, fading and changing weather conditions makes them suitable for demanding indoor and outdoor applications.
Each 3 mm board consists of a polyethylene core positioned between two aluminium sheets. The material features a 0.15 mm aluminium skin and weighs 3.64 kg per square metre, providing a sturdy yet practical construction.
Lifespan and Recommended Uses
Dibond printing can last:
- Up to three years outdoors
- Indefinitely indoors
These boards are particularly suitable for:
- Shop signs
- Fascia signage
- Events
- Exhibitions
Artwork is printed directly onto the Dibond surface using advanced latex-ink technology, producing a smooth, durable and high-quality finish.
Optional Drilling
Boards can be supplied pre-drilled for easier installation. Indicate the required drilling positions clearly within your artwork.
Multiple Designs
If your order includes several versions, enter the number of different designs required in the “Kinds” field.
Wipeable Finish
Choose Gloss lamination if you require a wipeable Dibond surface. This finish is suitable for use with dry-wipe markers.

Dibond Board Printing Specifications
Preparing Your Artwork
- Add 3 mm of bleed to every side.
- Prepare the file in full CMYK colour mode.
- Submit the finished artwork as a PDF for the best printing results, preferably using the PDF/X-1a:2001 standard.
- Embed all fonts within the PDF or convert them to outlines.
- Set all images to a resolution of 150 dpi.
- Keep important content at least 5 mm away from every edge.
- A 10 mm safe zone is recommended for the best result.
- Use a minimum font size of 18 pt.
- Ensure all lines have a minimum thickness of 2 pt.
View our guidance on PDF/X-1a:2001 files and preparing smaller large-format artwork at 150 dpi for further information.
Drill-Hole Requirements
- Each drill hole measures 5 mm in diameter.
- If every side of the board is 400 mm or longer, holes will be positioned 30 mm from the edges.
- If any side measures less than 400 mm, holes will be placed 15 mm from the edges.
- Keep all important text, graphics and other design elements clear of the drilling areas.
Ink-Bleed Tolerance
Dibond is non-porous, so a small amount of ink spread may occur during printing. The current production tolerance is 0.25 mm.
Maintain at least 1 mm of space between elements that must remain separate, including text, individual letters and QR-code details. This helps prevent merging and maintains accuracy and readability.
Custom-Shaped Boards
For boards requiring a custom cut, supply the following:
- The artwork to be printed
- A cutting path created using a 100% magenta spot colour named “Cut contour”
- A cutting-line thickness of 0.25 pt
All cutting paths must use strokes only and contain no fill.
View our guidance on creating custom-cut shapes for rigid boards for additional assistance.
UK shipping is free, although exceptions apply.
