Think of File Assist  as your expert partner for artwork assembly. You have all the prices-your text, image ,logo,or rough design files- but youneed a perfessional hand to construct a flawless,press-ready PDF.

Whether your file or created in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, or exported from another tool, our in-house prepress team will perform the technical corrections needed to ensure your artwork prints cleanly and accurately.

1. What is File Assist?

File Assist is a hands-on technical preparation service available when configuring your print order. Instead of relying solely on automated checks, an experienced prepress technician manually reviews, adjusts, and converts your raw design files into a high-resolution, print-ready PDF.
It bridges the gap between basic self-service uploading and full graphic design, giving you complete confidence without paying for a full design package.

2. Accepted File Formats

We accept artwork and layout files created in a wide range of popular design and office applications:

  • Print-Ready Formats: PDF (preferably editable), TIFF, JPEG, EPS.
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Adobe Illustrator (.ai), Photoshop (.psd), and InDesign (.indd) — please package all linked images and fonts.
  • Microsoft Office: Word (.docx), Publisher (.pub), and PowerPoint (.pptx).
  • Other Supported Graphics: CorelDraw (.cdr) and vector graphics formats.

3. What Our Prepress Team Will Fix & Adjust

When you select File Assist, our technical team actively corrects common prepress issues, including:

  • File Format Conversion: Converting Word documents, PowerPoint slides, and raw image files into press-ready PDFs.
  • Color Space Adjustments: Converting RGB and Spot/Pantone colors to standard CMYK print profiles.
  • Bleed Setup: Adding missing 3mm outer bleed margins where background artwork permits.
  • Proportional Scaling: Scaling your design proportionally to match your chosen product dimensions.
  • Overprint & Transparency Fixes: Correcting accidental overprints (on non-black elements) and flattening complex transparency layers.
  • Ink Coverage Optimization: Adjusting heavy ink densities that exceed maximum press thresholds (340%) to prevent smudging or set-off.

4.Technical Setup for Special Finishes & Products

If your product requires technical artwork layers or guides, our team can set up:

  • Drill Holes & Cut Lines: Adding technical drill hole guides or kiss-cut layers for rigid boards, banners, and custom labels.
  • White Underpin: Adding a dedicated white ink layer under artwork for clear or metallic substrates (when vector artwork is provided).
  • Non-Printable Zones: Setting up non-printable areas and numbering guides for NCR duplicate pads and books.
  • Template Alignment: Overlaying artwork onto product templates for flags, presentation folders, and promo boxes.

5.What We Will Warn You About

If your file contains issues that cannot be automatically fixed without affecting your core design, we will highlight them on your digital proof:

  • Text or important logos placed too close to the trim edge (inside the safe area).
  • Low-resolution images that may look soft or pixelated in print.
  • Impure or rich black text that could affect print sharpness.
  • Page creep warnings on thick multi-page booklets.

6.What File Assist Does Not Cover

File Assist focuses strictly on technical artwork correction. It does not cover:

  • Design Changes & Text Edits: Changing names, updating phone numbers, rewriting copy, or redesigning layouts. (If you need design changes or text edits, please order through our Design Services).
  • Unfixable Files: Corrupt files, password-protected documents, missing pages, or artwork submitted at grossly wrong aspect ratios.
